Ludo
The classic race-your-tokens-home board game (Pachisi). Roll a six to leave the yard, capture opponents, and rush all four tokens to the centre. Play online, vs the computer, or pass-and-play.
How to play
- Each player has 4 tokens that start in their coloured yard.
- On your turn, tap the die to roll. Roll a 6 to release a token from the yard onto your start square.
- Tap a glowing token to move it forward by the number you rolled.
- Land exactly on an opponent (on a non-safe square, the plain ones — not the ● star squares) to send it back to its yard.
- You roll again after a 6, after a capture, or after a token reaches home.
- Move every token all the way around and into the centre. First to get all 4 home wins.
Tips & strategy
- Spread your tokens — keeping several in play gives you more choices each roll than rushing one token home.
- Park tokens on the ● star safe squares, where they can't be captured, when you're under pressure.
- Watch the gap: an opponent sitting 1–6 squares behind one of your tokens is a capture threat — move it or guard it.
- Don't send a token deep toward home alone; a single unlucky roll can let an opponent catch it and reset all that progress.
- With Classic rules on, stacking two of your tokens on one square forms a blockade opponents can't pass — use it to wall off the board.
Frequently asked questions
- Can I play Ludo online with friends?
- Yes — create a private room and share the invite code, or use Ranked / Quick Play to match with others. You can also pass-and-play on one device or play vs the computer.
- Is Diceonaut Ludo free to play?
- Yes, it's completely free in your browser — no download, no install.
- Are the dice rolls fair?
- Online rolls are decided by the server from a provably-fair per-match seed, so no player — and no house — can influence a roll.
- Is Ludo luck or skill?
- Both. The dice are a resource, but token choice, captures, safe-square timing and risk management decide most games once the rolls average out.
